I don't shoot in a studio. Every session happens out in the world, in real light, somewhere that fits you. Over the years I've found the spots around St. Pete and the Gulf beaches that do the most for a portrait - the waterfront, the old streets, the sunset beaches. Here's where I love to work.
Downtown St. Petersburg
My most-requested location. Vinoy Park and the St. Pete Pier waterfront for open bay light, Straub Park's oak canopy for something softer, and the murals of the Central Avenue arts district when you want edge and color.
Gulfport & South Pasadena
Quieter neighborhood character - the artsy little Gulfport waterfront and the calm streets of South Pasadena. A good fit when you want something with personality that isn't the beach.
Treasure Island & St. Pete Beach
Pure Gulf-coast beach light. Wide white sand and warm western exposure for classic beach sessions up and down St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island.
Fort De Soto
A whole park's worth of backdrops in one place. North Beach for Gulf sunsets, East Beach for quiet sunrises with the Sunshine Skyway on the horizon, plus the historic fort, mangroves, and two piers.
Pass-a-Grille
The best sunset on the coast. A west-facing beach with a clean open horizon, plus the pastel old-Florida storefronts of historic 8th Avenue a block away. My favorite for couples and engagements.
